Trip hidden heritage oleh Wanderlust Indonesia. Linknya: http://bit.ly/hiddenheritage :)

-=-=========

This moment, as usual we aim to offer you a rare experience to explore your beloved city. With a little scent of past time, firstly we will take you to one of the oldest cemeteries in town that already existed since the Dutch’s reign. Petamburan cemetery is not just an ordinary one, inside the cemetery camp you will find one of the most extravagant Mausoleums in Southeast Asia. If Agra has the famous Taj Mahal, then Jakarta has the O.G.Khouw Mausoleum which built by his wife as proof of endless love to her husband. In fact, a local group concerned in preservation of Jakarta historical spots is in the process to fight for official acknowledgement of it as Jakarta’s heritage site.

Besides exploring the cemetery and historical stories within, Wanderers are expected to join community service afterwards. Working hand in hand with Love Our Heritage community, Wanderers will undertake “bakti royong” as our social mission to preserve this invaluable historical site. After that, Wanderers will experience baking mini martabak at the cemetery, learn how to make your own Indonesian pancake and feel the sensation of baking in a historical site.

Next, we will take you to Tekstil Museum located in medium distance from the cemetery. This museum was officially opened in Ali Sadikin governance period back in 1976. Currently, Tekstil Museum has 1914 collections from all around Indonesia. Right in the very spot, wanderers will experience to create their own tie-dye creation. After a long tiring day, we will take a rest while enjoy lunch in one of the comfy spots of this museum.
